Thank you for visiting Amsterdam Calling 2022!

Yes!

Yes! Quite a comeback! After a three year dry spell and two cancelled editions, we managed to present yet another oldscohol Eurovision party in 2022 in our very own Melkweg, Amsterdam. Remember the fantastic night an great line-up? Let’s rewind and watch the highlight video on this page.

Our very special suprise act of Amsterdam Calling 2022 came from Czech Republic. The band We Are Domi represented their country in May in Turin. Their entry Lights Off reached 22nd position in the final.

We’re proud to present a winner. In 2019 Tamara Todevska from North Macedonia brought home the jury prize with her song Pride.

Unfortunately Hungary does not participate in this year’s Eurovision. But that doesn’t keep us from inviting one of Hungary’s great performers. Kállay Saunders performed Running succesfully in 2014.

Moldovan group Sunstroke Project participated twice in the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2010 with singer Olia Tira and their song Run Away.

In 2017 they ended third with Hey Mama.

A very special Nordic combination. Icelandic singer Selma participated in 1999 with her song All Out Of Luck, being the runner up. In 2005 she made a less succesfull attempt with another great song, If I had your love. Friðrik Omar featured as the lead singer of Eurobandið (Euroband) in the Eurovision Song Contest of 2008. He participated several times in the Icelandic national finals. Selma and Friðrik join forces at Amsterdam Calling 2022.

Albanian singer Kejsi Tolsa represented her country in the Eurovision Song Contest of 2008 with Carry me in your dreams, a song that has since then become a true Eurovision classic.

Although Swedish, Anne Sahlene participated for Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest of 2002 in Tallin, and finished in 3rd position with her song Runaway. She took part in several editions of Swedish Melodifestivalen and entered this year’s Estionian national final Eesti Laul 2022 with the song Champion finishing 4th.

Dutch singer Maggie MacNeal took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton (UK) in 1974, as female member of Mouth of MacNeal. Their song I see a star finished 3rd after Abba. In 1980 she participated as a solo artist with her song Amsterdam in her home country, finishing 5th.
