Laura Põldvere kan worden gezien als een Eurovisie-veteraan. Direct na de start van haar carrière in 2005 nam ze deel aan het festival als lid van de meidengroep Suntribe met het nummer “Let’s Get Loud” namens haar thuisland Estland. In de jaren daarna deed ze meerdere malen mee aan de nationale voorrondes en in 2017 won Laura opnieuw samen met duetpartner Koit Toome met het iconische “Verona”. Ook dit jaar waagde ze een kans met “Here’s where I draw the line”, maar de keuze viel uiteindelijk niet op dit nummer. Wellicht zingt ze het toch tijdens Amsterdam Calling!
Laura Põldvere can be considered a Eurovision veteran. Immediately after starting her career in 2005, she participated in the festival as a member of the girl group Suntribe with the song “Let’s Get Loud” on behalf of her home country Estonia. In the years that followed, she participated in the national preliminaries several times and in 2017 Laura won again together with duet partner Koit Toome with the iconic “Verona”. Also this year she took a chance with “Here’s where I draw the line”, but in the end the choice did not fall on this song. Maybe she’ll sing it during Amsterdam Calling!
Nadat Anna Bergendahl deelnam aan het Eurovisie Songfestival in 2010 met het nummer “This is my life” is zij in haar thuisland Zweden een geliefde en gevestigde naam. De zangeres nam na 2010 nog een aantal keren deel aan de nationale voorrondes van Melodifestivalen en hoewel ze daarbij (net) niet meer de winnaar werd, scoorde ze met bijdragen nog wel grote hits als “Ashes to ashes” en “Kingdom Come”.
After Anna Bergendahl participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2010 with the song “This is my life”, she is a beloved and established name in her home country Sweden. After 2010, the singer participated a number of times in the national preliminaries of Melodifestivalen and although she was (just) no winner, she still scored big hits with contributions such as “Ashes to ashes” and “Kingdom Come”.
Voor de derde maal kondigen we de komst van Ott Lepland aan. De zanger uit Estland zou al in 2020 op het podium van Amsterdam Calling staan, maar toen gooide corona roet in het eten. Vorig jaar moest hij zich ziek melden. Dit jaar is hij van de partij! Ott vertegenwoordigde zijn land in 2012 met het prachtige “Kuula” op het Eurovise Songfestival in Bakoe waar hij een mooie zesde plaats behaalde.
For the third time we can announce the performance of Ott Lepland. The Estonian singer was supposed to be on the Amsterdam Calling stage in 2020, but then Covid-19 was a spoilsport. Last year Ott had to call in sick. This year he will join the party! Ott represented his country in 2012 with the beautiful “Kuula” at the Eurovision Song Contest in Baku, finishing in a great sixth position.
Maar liefst driemaal vertegenwoordigde de Maltese zangeres Chiara haar land op het Eurovisie Songfestival. In 1998 behaalde ze de derde plaats, net voor Edsilia, met de ballade “The one that I love”. In 2005 nam ze opnieuw deel en behaalde met een tweede plaats zelfs nog een beter resultaat met het nummer “Angel”. In 2009 betrad ze het Eurovisiepodium voor de derde keer met haar liedje “What if we”. Helaas bleef het hier bij een 22ste plek in de finale. Gelukkig kunnen we al Chiara’s bijdragen (en meer) op 12 april nog eens horen.
No less than three times Maltese singer Chiara represented her country at the Eurovision Song Contest. In 1998 she came in third, just before Edsilia, with the ballad “The one that I love”. In 2005 she again participated and even became the runner up with her entry “Angel“. In 2009 she performed on the Eurovision stage for the third time with her song “What if we”. Unfortunately this only reached a 22nd place in the final. Luckily we can hear all Chiara’s entries (and more) once again on April 12th.
Victor Crone is een Zweedse zanger die in 2015 met zijn deelname aan Melodifestivalen een gooi deed naar deelname namens zijn land aan het Eurovisie Songfestival. Dat lukte toen helaas niet. Vier jaar later had hij meer succes in de nationale voorronde van Estland. Hij vertegenwoordigde dat land met zijn nummer “Storm” in Tel Aviv in 2019. Op het podium van Amsterdam Calling brengt hij ongetwijfeld festivalbijdragen uit beide landen.

Four years later he was more successful in the national final of Estonia. He represented the country with his song “Storm” in Tel Aviv in 2019. On the stage of Amsterdam Calling he will undoubtedly perform Eurovision entries from both countries.
Caren Wood vormde samen het haar zus het duo Maywood, dat in de jaren ’80 erg internationaal erg succesvol was en hits scoorde met nummers als “Late at Night” en “Rio”. In 1990 vertegenwoordigde het duo Nederland op het Eurovisie Songfestival in Zagreb met hun lied “Ik wil alles met je delen”. Beide zussen zijn inmiddels solo verder gegaan. Caren zal de songfestivalbijdrage (en meer) solo brengen tijdens Amsterdam Calling 2024.
Caren Wood was, together with her sister, half of the duo Maywood, that had huge international succes in the eighties with hit records as “Late at Night” en “Rio”. In 1990 the duo represented the Netherlands on the Eurovision Song Contest in Zagreb with their song “Ik wil alles met je delen”. Both sisters have now gone solo. Caren will sing the Eurovision entry (and more) as a soloist at Amsterdam Calling 2024.
De carrière van de Spaanse zangeres Lucia Perez begon al op 17-jarige leeftijd toen ze een tv-talentenjacht won. Ze vertegenwoordigde haar land in 2011 op het Eurovisie Songfestival in Düsseldorf met het nummer “Que me quiten lo bailao”.

De Portugese zangeres Susana Guerra staat beter bekend onder haar artiestennaam Suzy Guerra en voor het Eurovisie-publiek simpelweg als Suzy. Zij vertegenwoordigde haar land tijdens het Eurovisie Songfestival in Kopenhagen, Denemarken met het aanstekelijke nummer “Quero ser tua”, dat inmiddels tot de favorieten behoort tijdens fanfeestjes. Zij is de gastvrouw tijdens Amsterdam Calling 2024!
Portuguese singer Susana Guerra is known professionally as Suzy Guerra and to the Eurovision audience simply as Suzy. She represented her country at the Eurovision Song Contest of 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark with her catcy song “Quero ser tua”, which now is one of the favorites at fan parties. She will be the host at Amsterdam Calling 2024!
De Bulgaarse zangeres Victoria Georgieva begon haar carrière op jonge leeftijd in de talentenshow X-Factor. Ze werd geselecteerd om haar land te vertegenwoordigen op het Eurovisie Songfestival in Rotterdam in 2020 met haar bijdrage “Tears Getting Sober”. Die editie werd gecancelled als gevolg van de corona-epidemie. Gelukkig mocht Victoria in 2021 opnieuw deelnemen met het prachtige nummer “Growing Up Is Getting Old”.
Bulgarian singer Victoria Georgieva started her carreer at a young age in the talent show X-Factor.
